Well, well, well… this is a third project I have started in the past 3 days! This is it, no more till something is finished.
I fell in love with this patter as soon as I saw it. What a genius design! The ripples really look like ripples in the sand! Although it looks complicated, it really is quite simple in construction. I had a slow start, but after completing 2 strips I am flying now! The pattern is very forgiving - if you are off by a stitch or two it can be easily corrected.
The instructions are not very clear, you really need to carefully read first. For example, the “knit 3 tog” really means “double centered decrease”, which is explained on second page. The “yarn over” really means “make one through lifted twisted loop”, also explained on page 2. Both are important to note, otherwise the fabric will look different.

I have been working on this almost every day. It takes approximately 1.5-2 hrs to complete one strip. I absolutely LOVE this pattern. As a matter of fact I just ordered the original yarn used by the designer. So much fun!
Both sides of fabric look good, as illustrated in the photos.
I also have been experimenting with needle sizes. So far I get the best result using size 3 for the Part B strips (the background part between the waves) and then switching to size 2 on the last row - the purl row with color 1. I also use size 2 dpn for the waves. This gives me denser fabric.

Finished stripe 15 last night. can’t put it down! I am officially addicted to this project!

Just finished strip 7 of the second repeat. I have worked on other projects in the meantime. It still takes about 2 hours to finish one strip.

Finished 2nd repeat, that is 30 stripes competed. So far the piece is roughly 28” long and 23.5” wide. I have been lightly ironing it as I go, so you can say it has been partially blocked. It looks fantastic!

I am about 60% done. Still slow going, but never boring.

Done with the third repeat, working on the 4th strip of the 4th repeat. This wrap will be huge. I wish I had made it little narrower - not only I would have finished it faster, but it wold have been more wearable. I am considering finishing the edges with an I-cord.

As lovely as this wrap it i am starting to get impatient with it. I am currently working on the 4th repletion, stripe 7. Many more hours to go. I think I will take a break from this project and work on something else for awhile. I want to enjoy every minute of knitting, not to feel like it is a chore. This will be finished soon, but probably not before spring arrives, as i have planned.

Still working on it! Stripe 11 of 4th repetition. I was hoping 4 repeats would be enough, but now I see that to have good proportions, that is enough fabric to drape around the shoulders, i will need one more repeat.

Starting the 5th and final repeat!!! Yeah!
04/24/2019
Finished!!!! I haven’t wet blocked it yet, just steamed. I ended up omitting last 5 strips of the last repetition - just couldn’t wait to finish. The wrap is very large, measures 74” x 24”, but it can be blocked much more.
I would like to thank everyone for expressing your interest and giving me your “likes”! This means a lot to me! I am very happy and proud to be part of this community.
This project had been a lot of fun, but it did take a long time.
