This pair is intended as pure fun! The color combination is not at all my favorite, but it so strongly brings to mind the colorful Easter eggs my kids and I used to make every year. so I just have to have it!

I am using my own pattern. Just for fun i am adding rows of slipped stitches here and there.

Cast on 68 on size 2.5.
Switch to size 1 and 2x2 rib.
Heel flap on 40 stitches slipping every other stich. After completing the first 2 rows of flap start small side gussets. Each formed by 5 increases spaced every other row. Last row plain.
Short row heel mad with reinforcement wool on 40 stitches. 12 center stitches left unwrapped. First and last wrap falls on the heel bordering stitch, that is stitch 40. same on the other side.
After completing the first half of the heel 2 rounds all around to combine the wraps (without reinforcement).
After finishing the whole heel ended up with 80 stitches. not sure why. Should have been 78 - 68 cast on plus 10 gusset increases. Must have increased 6 on each gusset. 3 rows plain all around and then start decreasing every other round.
Decreased down to 68. Few rows later decreased 2 more stitches down to 66.

It is the first day of spring today! Hubby and I left this morning driving to Nevada. First major stop will be somewhere in Arizona to see the deserts abloom with wild flowers.

After finishing couple of mosaic shawls and a pair of fingerless mitts I am back to this one.
66 stitches. I moved the markers and now have 32 on top and 34 sole stitches.
I should be done with this pair in couple of days.

Decrease every other row till 16/18
After last plain round dec every round till 10/12.
Dec 2 more on the bottom - 10/10.
1 more plain round.
