Waiting for my ‘Arncliffe’ Skeins from the UK (on sale). Read all the notes all Ravelry-knitters wrote. Great! I’ve just made a sample knit with ‘Litton’ and washed it. Looks good. (4mm needle, 23 stitches, 28 rows in cable pattern =10x10cm)
Looking, reading, copy-paste all the notes and photo’s I think I can use of everyone.

Almost ready with all the cable knitting. Knitting it all flat. After an attempt in the round. Made some mistakes with the sides, I couldn’t get my head round it. So started again, following the notes of Rowan, as a good girl. O, well: sleeves about 5cm longer.

Finished the cable knitting bit. Washed all the parts. I’m trying to understand the yoke instructions. I will steek it so I can knit in the round this time.

It is a very Zen thing to do, this yoke. Fair isle, with mostly 3 skeins, sometimes 4 and every now and again a round of decreasing stiches in pattern. I’m following the instructions to the letter (with steek). I hope it will turn out right. I need a do not disturb sign! ;)

Finished the beautiful Dilys today. Yeah!
I found the yarn a bit weak, used a sock yarn to put everything together.
I don’t think I had to add extra 5 cm on the sleeves. The fit and size (S) is perfect, I find it a big “S”, (good for me, I don’t like a to tight fit). The neckline is growing on me (bit wide). My boyfriend liked the wooden buttons, so they are on it. I washed it (again).
I love the yarn and the pattern. I didn’t find it a difficult knit, but I have to say I just finished Orkney… that was serious fair isle. The yoke felt a little bit like ‘lace making’ with the four colours, but the pattern itself was not complicated. I you-tubed the short row bit. And for the steek I used the sewing machine an other solution made it all more bulky.
Maybe things could have been written easier, but I am not an experienced knitter and English is not my first language, so everything is a puzzle to me :).
This one worked out just fine, it is still winter in The Netherlands, so I will be wearing it for a couple of weeks I guess! (happy)
Last photo is that of the left over yarn. (didn’t follow instructions, bought too much, that’s why there is one arncliffe skein in the stash box).

I made some adjustments. Although I think it’s a beautiful pattern, It did not feel comfortable. And all together a bit to girly for me…. So risking making a total mess of it, I made some alterations (sorry Marie Wallin!):
The neck was much too wide for me. The yoke and the sleeves are heavy, so it became an off-shoulder neckline. Rather irritating for a cardigan I think. -> I added a few fair isle rows.
I was not me, the flared shape of the cardigan. I altered that. ->Made the sides straight. And I knitted the front (buttonholes) boards (how do you call that?) straight, without adding the short rows. Oh yes, I added 5 extra buttons, it’s winter! :D. To be continued… ;)
