This pattern is beautifully written. I always felt like I was in the capable hands of the designer. I followed the written pattern, and had no need to reference the lace charts.

Counting. I did find it necessary to count the stitches in the lace pattern in Chart E. That ensured that I was always on track, or let me know when I wasn’t.

On wrong side rows in Chart E I had to make sure not to skip the yarn-over after the garter section. I made sure I said, “purl 1, knit 1, yarn over” each time so as not to forget it in anticipation of the ssp stitch.

Make One Away. I liked the gentle slope of the stockinette section before the lace, though wonder about the relative merits of the M1R versus M1A. Knitting Help’s video on Make One Away (M1A) for English-style knitters was very helpful.

Yarn Usage. I was able to knit most of row 7 in the 5th repetition of Chart E with the first skein of yarn. I think I’ll only have enough to knit five repetitions before rows 1-18 and Charts F and G and the picot bind-off.

The fourth repetition of Chart E took 26 grams of yarn. The fifth repetition took 30. The 18 rows of Chart E and 16 of Chart F took 35 grams. Chart G took 5 grams. The bind-off used 4 grams.

I had 31 grams left of the second skein, which would not have been enough for a 6th repeat of Chart E.
