Cast On. I used my size 7 needles because they had such a flexible cord, and cast on 64 stitches using the Alternating Cable Cast On for 1 x 1 ribbing.

Pattern Stitch. Like GrandmomSharing, I’m using a pattern stitch to match Mathias’ Cardigan (in the round, knit 3 rounds and k1, p1 for 4th round).

Decreases. Adjusted decreases to:

Round 1:  (k2, k2tog, ssk, k2) 8 times (48)
Round 2: knit
Round 3:  (k1, k2tog,, ssk, k1) 8 times (32)
Round 4: k1, p1 (pattern row)
Round 5:  (k2tog, ssk) 8 times (16)
Round 6:  (k2tog, ssk) 4 times (8)
