Notes

Cast-On. I used the Alternating Cable Cast-On to start the 1 x 1 ribbing at the neckline.

Variation. I’m using the stitch pattern described by GrandmomSharing for the body of the sweater below the underarms and for the lower sleeves.

The next time I use this variation, I“ll start with p1 on the 2nd and 4th repeat of row 4 on the sleeves. That should allow the purl stitches to line up, as they do in the body of the sweater. The look is slightly different wirhout this adjustment…but not glaringly so.

The last iteration of this pattern actually forms the first row of the bottom ribbing, so I skipped the decrease at the center back, which was meant to allow a knit stitch on each side of the button band.

Bind-Off. I used Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off on the cuffs.

Buttons. I used 1/2-inch buttons from Hobby Lobby.
