Improvising. I knit this on the road, with no crochet hook for the provisional cast-on. Fortunately, I had some yarn left over from Jamie’s blanket to use for waste yarn.

I didn’t have my size 5 needles with me, so I used my size 6 (from cowl project).

Some Re-working. I also read the pattern from my phone so I had some trouble initially with the wrap-and-turn instructions. I finally figured out what I was supposed to be doing, so there was at least one false start.

I also had to redo one section when I realized I hadn’t been paying attention, and was working the pattern from the wrong side.

I finished up the kitchener stitches when we got home…
