First Slipper. Casting on 40 stitches made the opening a bit too wide. Knit 36 rows in garter stitch to get 10 cm length. Picked up 18 stitches on each side. Last row, used centered double decease at center to account for odd number of stitches.

Second Slipper. Cast on 36 stitches so back portion of slipper would measure 11 cm. Rest of slipper same as above.

Selvedge Stitches. The best part of this pattern was the selvedge stitches, which made it easier to pick up the stitches for the upper portion of the slipper and to seam it.
