I want to call this color “Ukraine Blue”!

My matching “Majestic” hat will be going to Hats for Sailors, eventually, but I’m keeping these mitts for myself. Or at least that’s the plan. First I need to understand the pattern well enough to “teach” it. Maybe I’ll make my own mitts out of a different stash yarn that’s not suitable for HFS?

Got gauge with G (4mm) hook, so I’m off to the races.

LOVE how this turned out. But I think I will save this yarn for HFS hats, and find something else (not superwash) from my stash for my mitts. I was afraid that this was turning out too small in circumference for my hand, but it’s perfect -- nice snug fit.

The thumb gusset is a real trick, but the picture tutorials and videos are perfect!!

Changes I would make:

• wrist cuff about 1” longer, so about double
• finger cuff about half as wide
• or… would I be better off leaving
  finger cuff at this size and shifting up the thumb gusset a little higher?
