Found this in Sasha’s book - was looking for a square increase project for a quick lap throw. Started with 2 skeins of the yarn and tried to make it that there was contrast in the chain rows and subsequent dc rows throughout.
Need to check how many rows around I did, the weight, and the measurement

Of note - the year after he married his wife (my ggm), he put a note in an Indiana newspaper saying he would not pay any of her debts as she had left him. The next year they started popping out about 8 kids. what’s the story there?
we do have a picture of him. doesn’t look happy but then again they weren’t yet smiling for pictures in the mid 1800s.
