What can I say? Isabell’s patterns are very detailed and written so well. I love the design, and it’s so comfortable. Scholar worked nicely with the design, and it softens up beautifully after soaking. I softened it up more by drying it on low in the dryer for about 20-30 minutes (spun on medium in the washer first after soaking in the TubTrug).
It didn’t take me quite so long to actually knit the sweater… in fact, it’s a super quick knit. I had to put it aside a few times for gift knitting and a few other deadlines. I can’t wait until fall to wear this gorgeous sweater!
No modifications - it’s great as is!
At first, I bound off with a stretchy bind-off, but I didn’t like the way it looked (which I of course decided at the end, after blocking). So, I ripped off the bind-offs and redid them, binding off normally knitwise. I like the fit so much better! It pulls things in a bit more, and it doesn’t look as baggy anymore. Should have just followed Isabell’s directions in the first place. :)
Alternating in the round: knit with skein A as normal, then at the next alternating point, YO with skein B, and knit as normal. When you come to the YO, drop the YO, pick up the next skein, make a new YO, and continue as normal.
I alternated three skeins at a time throughout the body, after the short rows at the top. Two skeins were alternated through the sleeves. I didn’t alternate during the ribbing.
First test for Isabell! Thanks so much for the opportunity. :)
Love, love the finished sweater! The colorway is absolutely beautiful. I’m glad I have a few skeins left over (it was originally going to be my Rowe cardigan), because I want to use it for a cardigan, or possibly a Saugerties shrug.
