Kate and Jacobe will be attending a wedding in a few weeks and they purchased an adorable little dress for Meredith to wear (see photo). I am making this jacket to go with the dress so that my little granddaughter won’t be cold in the air conditioning.

5/23 Worked jacket through row 3 of the body. Will take some time to add to the body length tomorrow.

This is working up SO fast, and what a well-written pattern for an adorable little jacket. The body of the jacket could be easily modified to make a little boy’s jacket as well using sc, ch-1, sc to give it a woven look, or any other combination of stitches for a different effect.

I will definitely be using this pattern to make the larger size as well when my little granddaughter grows a little bigger.

Modifications:
I added a second round of sc to the outer edge of the sweater to give the edge a little more structure. Also, as I worked the sleeves, I completed the first four rounds as directed, but then just continued to crochet in the pattern stitch in the round so there was no seam. I ss for a couple of stitches, then fastened off. It worked out just perfect!

All I need to do now is weave in ends and get the perfect buttons. Blue buttons will look great against the white, and will also match the color in Meredith’s dress nicely.

Ends woven in, buttons added just in time for the wedding.
