This would make an adorable little skirt for Meredith. I am modifying this skirt to fit my granddaughter to wear next fall. She is currently 2 1/2 months old and I will be making this for her to wear through the cooler months of October - April. She will be 6-12 months old.

Measurements so far: With one skein of yarn I have crocheted 52 rows and the waistline measures 6” un-stretched. I will likely add 10-12 more rows before joining and starting the waistband.

I slip stitched my sides together starting from the bottom edge and worked my way up to the top waistband so it was not necessary for me to cut my yarn. I worked 64 rows before joining sides. This gives me a 18” waistband all around. I have a little elastic “headband” that I am going to use for the waist….now if I can just FIND it! Couldn’t locate the elastic headband, so I bought one finally this evening and it worked like a charm. As I crocheted around the headband, I kept the tension of my stitches a little looser so that I could stretch the stitches over the headband and “even” it out along the top edge when finished.

I used these size charts to help me make the correct sized skirt for my granddaughter.
