7/15/12 Finally BO this afternoon. I’m so glad I added the extra repeats to make the shawl wider (longer?) Stupidly, I didn’t keep detailed notes and can’t remember whether I worked 5 or 6 repeats of the center lace pattern. Now I need to block it and take pics of the FO. I love this shawl!
6/26/12 Spent the weekend dyeing yarn rather than knitting. Yesterday I picked up 411 stitches and started the TARDIS section. I added a silver-lined clear bead to each bobble so that I’ll have a little “light” at the top of each TARDIS.
6/10/12 I’ve settled on 9 increase repeats and will probably work 5-7 repeats of the center lace section. This is a simple lace so it works up pretty quickly.
6/9/12 I probably should have used size 4 needles for the lace section, but definitely preferred 3s when I did a swatch in stockinette. Since I’ve completed 5 increase repeats will stick with the 3s for the lace.
In order to have neat edges, I am slipping the 1st stitch purl wise WYIB on RS rows and slipping the 1st stitch purl wise WYIF on WS rows.
I think I’ll do more increase/decrease repeats than called for to make the shawl deeper as well as longer.
6/7/12 I must be a masochist because I plan to make this longer, so will have to pick up even more stitches, but I don’t think the shawl as written will be as long as I like.
Finished first increase pattern repeat last night. This yarn is nice and squooshy.
