Notes

I ended up adding a narrow garter border around the neck edges. It’s jsut what I needed to pull everything together!

The second pattern in my Everyday Dresses collection. I’m knitting this one as a top, though it can also be made as a dress.

It’s inspired by hobnail-patterened milk glass vanity sets, which I associate with my great grandmother’s house - probably because it always felt like I was visiting an antique shop when I visited. I can’t actually recall whether she even had any hobnail milk glass, but I am pretty sure she did. It would have blended perfectly with the wash basins and knickknacks scattered in all the bedrooms.

After the hobnail textured surplice bodice, it’s a whole lot of stockinette stitch until about 2” from the bottom. I’m finishing this one with a knitted-on lace edging. I think it will make a big impact worked up in the dk/worsted weight yarn.

Tunic measures 12.5” from the unnderarm blocked. Dress length will measure about 19.5” from underarm for the 4T size.

A dress version in the 4T would probably require another skein plus. Those bobbles on the yoke take up a lot of yardage.
