01/08: I finally stopped procrastinating on weaving in the ends. My Wheaten is officially finished! I also managed to improve the white balance in my photos, so the FO pictures are pretty true to the yarn color in real life.

05/16: The dear friend who acted as officiant for my wedding is getting married this summer. My go-to wedding gift for close friends is a hand-knit lace shawl, and I wanted this one to be extra special. As soon as I saw this pattern I knew it was the one.

Since malabrigo doesn’t have as much body as bt loft, I cast on an additional 32 stitches to work one more repeat of the lace and cable chart. I’m just getting started, but true to the notes, the chart is pretty easy to memorize. That’s my kind of lace knitting.

05/20: I finally made it through the ribbing and the first repeat of the pattern. With zero mistakes despite my clingy toddler’s best efforts. The pattern is so, so easy to memorize. Exactly the kind of lace knitting I can handle right now.

05/24: Two repeats down. So far, the wrap measures 12 inches. Eight more repeats and I should be at the length specified in the pattern.

06/14: I’m nearly done with repeat number six. Not sure where I am with total length, but I will be completing the 12 repeats suggested in the pattern. I’ve been averaging a couple repeats a week, so hopefully I’ll finish in early July with ample time to spare.
