Oct 17 - Didn’t have enough contrast between my darker CC and the MC, so went back to the drawing board and ordered different yarn.

Nov 14 - Completely laid low by a virus or the flu or something. No knitting being done at all. I am about a dozen rows from the end of the colorwork chart in the body, but everything is on hold for right now.

Nov 21 - Sufficiently recovered to pick my knitting back up. Way behind the testknit deadline, but determined to have at least a sleeve completed by tomorrow. Body colorwork has been completed.

SLEEVES

Knit sleeves for 90 rows after colorwork, before starting ribbing.

BINDOFF

Used recommended sewn bind off. Bottom hem looked funky pre-blocking but settled down nicely.

MODS

8.5” from yoke (minus ribbing, as clarified by designer) to sleeve split put me at row 50.

Knit sleeves to 17.5”

FINAL SWEATER GAUGE AFTER BLOCKING

23.5 stitches across x 27 rows / 4” in colorwork on US4 needles

23.5 stitches x 28 rows / 4” in st st on US5 needles - (row gauge very off for some reason but that was easy to compensate for)

THOUGHTS

• Fit through body is good, but sleeves are tight for me. Next time I will knit the sleeves straight and do rapid decreases before starting ribbing at cuff for a little balloon sleeve.
• I made a mistake in trapping my floats at the same spot throughout the last few rounds of colorwork in the body. It shows through the MC a bit but not horrible. Very happy with my color choices. I switched colors at least four times, but the final outcome has great contrast and I’m satisfied with the color story. All fade CC are from Knit Picks, so a good budget sweater!
