The white yarn is probably wool, it came from asstd. materials pack from the Japan surplus shop.
I had to improvise on the fur, by crocheting loops over the main body.

Hat (3.5mm hook, medium yarn)
Rnd 1: (white yarn, 2 strands) ch 16, join with sl st to form a circle, ch 1, sc in each ch around, sl st in 1st sc to join. (16 sc)
change to red yarn, work the following rnds in back loops only
Rnd 2 (red yarn or thread, 1 strand), join in 1st st, working in back loops only, sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, ch 3, skip 3 sts, sc in 2 sts, 2 sc in next 2 sts, sc in 2 sts, ch 3, skip 3 sts, sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, join. (20 sts)
Rnd 3: ch 1, sc in each st (20 sc)
Rnd 4: Ch 2, (hdc in 2 sts, hdc2tog) 5 times (15 hdc)
Rnd 5: hdc in each st (15 hdc)
Rnd 6: hdc in 1 st, hdc2tog 5 times (10 hdc)
Rnd 7: hdc in each st (10 hdc)
Rnd 8: (hdc2tog) 5 times (5 hdc)
Rnd 9: hdc, skip 1, hdc skip 1, hdc.
