Color A: Perfectly Wreckless
Color B: Blackbird
I used almost all of one skein of Perfectly Wreckless and approximately 1 1/2 skeins of Blackbird. I followed Martina’s instructions on color changes except in the last section (the decrease section.) She used just the variegated color for the entire section - I would have run out of yarn. I chose to add a strip of Blackbird - which actually looks nice and mirrors the sizing of the other stripes. This stripe shows in the second picture from the top.
In knitting this project, I never could understand how this was going to go together in the end. But I took it on faith that I would be able to figure it out once I got to the point of having to join the ends. I had seen one of Martina’s on her in January (2014), but never asked her to see how it went together.
When I got to the point of joining the points of the triangle, I thought I should take some pictures.
The steps you take are to knit (xx) stitches, then you cast off (xx) stitches, then using another circular needle, you knit to the end. At this point you have live stitches on 2 circular needles.
Then I placed all the stitches on one longer set of circular needles and started knitting with Perfectly Wreckless - the variegated yarn in this project - and followed the decrease instructions. This is the section where I added a stripe of Blackbird in so I wouldn’t run out of yarn.
