January 04, 2015: My second Lacy Hearts hat in soft white.

This is such a pretty hat! I used a 4.5mm circular needle for the ribbing and a k2/p2 rib instead of k1/p1 (just because I like the look). The rest of the hat was finished with a 5mm needle. I also did an extra decrease round of k2tog. before gathering the remaining stitches.

I followed the directions for depth of hat - 1.5 inches for the ribbing and 5.5 inches total before decreases - and it came out a perfect fit. I will definitely be making another heart hat soon!

ps: I hadn’t used my dpns for at least 5 years, so it was a bit of a learning curve again until my fingers remembered what to do with all those pointy sticks.
