Took me longer to work up the braid than to make them
Chain the desired length
Sc in every stitch till piece measures the width of your hand
Measure where your thumb should start
To make the thumb hole hdc , dc, ch 5 (or until big enough), skip 5, dc, hdc
Sc in every stitch till piece measures 1 1/2 times width of your hand
Add 3 rows of alternating 2 hdc, ch
Sc in every stitch till piece measures 2 times the width of your hand
Add edging on top: slip st, 2 hdc in same st, ch 1, 2 hdc in the next stitch, (do not skip 1)
Sew sides together
It isn’t necessary but you can sew the top to divide it in quarters (1 for every finger)

Ch 30 + 1 working on 30 sts

Sc even 15 rows

Thumb: sc 14, (hdc, dc, ch 5, skip 5, dc, hdc), sc 7

Sc even 5 rows

Braid:
Row 1: Skip 1, dc, ch 1, cross back over to the skipped stitch, make a 4 loop puff, ch 1 to close stitch Repeat across row ending with 1 dc in last stitch
Row 2: repeat row 1 working in spaces between the puffs
