Using size 0 needle for the garter edge and 1 for the rest. Trying the method of knitting inside out to make the floats looser, but I’m having a hard time. Looked easy in the video!
I only did inside out on first mitten. Too tricky for me.
Planning to knit the mittens with mirror image motif and no numbers like the original samples. I like the simplicity.
Love the Finnley Heather yarn. Wish it had not been out of stock when I purchased yarn for the Advent Mitten Garland. I like it so much better than the Mist.

7/29 made a mistake on #3…just kept knitting what was on the chart and forgot I was not adding the numbers! Four down now…8 to go!
8/14 For the 5 golden rings I added a double strand of gold lurex thread from a cone I borrowed from michemosh. Wanted a little sparkle without straying from the color scheme. Happy with the way it turned out.
8/27 Half way there!
9/21 fixed the mistake on #3. Ripped out the thumb up to the number part and re-knit. It was a little tricky to get out after all ends were woven in, but the knitting part was a piece of cake. Happier now that it is repaired and they are consistent.
9/22 Eight are finished now, so 2/3 done!
11/21 Finished the last one yesterday! Fun project. I’m both happy and sad to be finally finished!
