My modifications were unintentional. I had knit 1 1/2 repeats of the yoke pattern when I decided that my raglan must be wrong. I frogged and re-knit only to discover I was correct the first time. I decided to leave it and not frog again. So, on the non decrease rows I have purled the stitch next to the knit stitch. Because of this I have had to fudge a little fading the pattern into the raglan. I think it’s OK overall, but would be nicer if I actually followed the pattern.

It had been a long time since I knit a bottom up sweater. Getting those sleeves on the needles was grueling. So tight to try to fit them. I finally decided to divide it onto 2 circulars with the needles ending at sleeve midpoint. Seemed to work better for me. I also had a very hard time figuring out the neck shaping. I emailed the designer and she was amazing.

It seems my confusion came about because I didn’t complete the chart repeats before reaching the number of stitches for the front neck bind off. The solution was to work one more even numbered row before doing the bind off. Odd row for the bind off, and this set me up to knit back and forth while decreasing for neck and continuing raglan decreases.

I really love the style of this sweater. The elbow length sleeves and the collar give it a little something extra, and the cable pattern is unique. The chart is easily memorized.
