Notes

This pattern is such a pleasure to knit. Just enough going on to keep you interested, but easy enough to knit while watching TV or chatting. The solid sections have a nice texture thanks to the slipped stitches, and the mosaic section is, well, just fun to knit, fun to look at!

Bought this yarn at Rhinebeck in 2013 for a 2 color shawl, and queued this pattern in 2015. It’s about time I started it! Trying to knit up my Rhinebeck yarns so I can justify return trips to the festival. I think I’m making progress.

6/5. Section A finished. I advertently started with the darkercolor instead of lighter, but I wasn’t going to rip out when I discovered my error. The pattern indicates you can do it either way. I think I would have preferred if I started with the lighter color, but I will live with it. Knit to 150 stitches. 56 g remaining of Rainforest. Began with about 135 g.

Switched to sz 7 needles for mosaic section.

6/11 Both mosaic bands complete. Finished with the Rainforest with 26 g remaining.

6/18 After 11 repeats of second body section I have 38 g of Blessed Be remaining and 246 stitches on the needles. Not sure whether I should do another repeat or just bind off. Even though I seem to have used less yarn for the color B section, I have the same number of stitches and repeats as some of the original shawls. Perhaps binding off is what I should do to keep the look of the original. Bound off with sz 7 needles. 36 g remain.

Love this shawl! Miss Babs yarns never disappoint. Gorgeous colors, beautifully dyed. The tencel in this one makes for a nice drape.
