Wanted to knit this since I very first laid eyes on it.
Although some have said they were able to memorize the pattern, this was not the case for me. Over time I became more comfortable with it, but I would never say I “memorized” it.
Was only able to do 13 repeats with 3 skeins. Eight grams left would not have done another repeat. But it is more than generous in size.
Bound off in pattern using JSSBO. It was slow and tedious, but seems to have worked.
First time using Spud and Chloe Fine. I wanted this to turn out as much like the pattern sample as possible so I used the same yarn, different color. I like the way it knits up and it has great stitch definition, but I’m not overly crazy about the feel. Think this item will be more for visual appeal than comfort.
5/26 Off the blocking mats! Pre- blocking it measured 25” on straight edge, 47” on top edge and 43” on scalloped edge. Post blocking it’s 34” X 58” X 78”. I’m guessing it will relax a little over time, but it seems that this yarn will hold a blocking pretty well.
This might well be the most beautiful and delicate piece I have ever knit. It’s not without errors. I know I have a few decreases leaning the wrong way, but somehow the pattern is forgiving of my misknitting when you view it as a whole.
This is also my first time using a KC Design purchased for my Knit Companion. It’s a little pricey to purchase the patterns all set up like that, but I did enjoy using it. Kept track of my repeats as well as rows, and all the essential info from the book that you would flip around to find was right at my fingertips without me setting it up.
