Three skeins of this yarn will make two pairs of mittens if the colors are reversed on the second pair. It was a perfect amount without playing yarn chicken at the end.
I noticed that in browsing the projects, very few people chose to knit the pair in this color combo, and most chose the original pattern colors. The original combo really is a winner and I prefer it, but I feel like this color is happening for fall this year.
Based on my experience with the first pair, I made some changes to the second.

Because of smaller needles I needed to add length. I added 8 rounds to the hand. So, I knit rounds 43-50 twice. No extra rounds were required on the thumb.

I thought the right hand chart was missing some C1 stitches. When I contacted pattern support I received a reply indicating that the extra background stitches were intentional to avoid a jog and that it was the same on the left. I disagree that it’s the same on the left. So, I added C1 stitches on the following rounds of the right hand chart: Round 9, last stitch. Rounds 15, 19, 23, 27, first stitch. I feel it balances the two mittens and I’m pleased with the outcome.

There is also a C1 stitch missing on the left hand chart on round 62, fifth stitch from right. But you may not even notice as you will likely intuit that it belongs there.
These really are enjoyable to knit and would make great gifts. But you really need to work out gauge and sizing before you knit your first pair.
