A shawl of firsts - my first dyeing with lace weight yarn - first gradation dyeing with skeins rather than sock blanks - first shawl with over 2000 beads. Second time with this beautiful pattern though.

I had a strong impulse to gradation dye this yarn, after crocheting up 39 gm. for the shawl body. I split the other 2 skeins into four 25 gm. skeins and dyed them. (All three skeins were underweight by 2 to 3 gm.) Yarn from 2011.

Did 47 body rows before the border. Added two extra mesh rows in the border.

Finished crocheting Feb. 17. Started sewing in ends.

To counteract the slight curl on the top edge, I added;

• row 1 - sc
• rows 2 & 3 - alternating sc and dc
• row 4 - sc
