Notes

I needed a short-notice present that was still special and thoughtful. After browsing through hundreds of Ravelry patterns I decided to go with this shawlette.

Pattern was easy to follow. It would have been better though if there was a legend for the abbreviations used. But the pattern was free so can’t really complain. Although the end product was nice, I was not a fan of the short rows. For the eyelet border, I followed instructions for border A which was for the squared edge.

Although instruction called for size 9 and 7 needles, I used 8 and 7 circular simply because I didn’t have a 9. I just made sure to knit loosely.

As for the yarn, this was my first time using Cascade 220 yarn and I was not disappointed. The yarn was a pleasure to knit, no splitting at all, and it blocked beautifully! I bought mine from Jimmy Beans and shipping was lightning fast, just two days, without having to pay for expedited shipping. I used up one skein.

For a quick project, this pattern served its purpose. The shawlette was the perfect size as the recipient is petite.
