3/18: After much debate, I am deciding to go with the Small size, even though Josh’s chest measures 38”. The pattern suggests 3-5” of ease, however I am aiming for a more fitted look than how the pics look on the model/FO’s on Ravelry. Hope it fits!!!
3/24: Done with the sleeves, extended length to 19”. Knit each sleeve in about 3 hours tops. After knitting my Larch Cardi with sport weight yarn on size 4 needs, this feels like such a breeze!!
Headed out to Seattle on Friday March 30th, hope to get most of the knitting done on the road.
4/6: Got some knitting done on the car ride to Seattle, adding 1” length to the body, measuring 16.5” total before dividing for sleeves.
4/15: Took a fairy to Bainbridge Island, and Josh surprised me by taking me to Churchmouse!! What an amazing trip! They didn’t have any toggle buttons, which we were on the hunt for, so I will go ahead and probably order some from Etsy. Finally got to see Shelter in person (love it!) and took some photos on the water of Puget Sound. I absolutely love it here in Seattle, and we are having an awesome time!
Overview: This was a beautifully written pattern, of course - Jared Flood does no wrong! I am happy with the mods, however if I hadn’t added an inch on the body and sleeves I think I would have liked it just as much. The extra inches just give it a little extra ease, which Josh likes. Since I made the small size, it’s still fitted but the length I think makes it look a little more “store-bought”. Blocking makes all the difference - I am very pleased with the results :) The best part is that Josh couldn’t wait to wear it! He checked it every day while it was blocking just to see if it was dry, haha. When it finally dried today, he was so excited, gotta love a knitter’s man ;) <3
