0508/22: Neglected to change yarns when I started turning the heel. Now I know how to unknit in two directions. Doing the heel turn with the correct yarn this time.
05/01/22: Knit approximately 2” too far on the second sock, need to rip back.
Feb 2022 math: 11.5 rounds/inch
24 rounds for the gusset, which is a little over 2”
39 heel stitches x 0.66=19.8 so 18 or 20? ~1.57” of heel, so 3.57” of gusset and heel.
Stitch count: 60
Row gauge: 11.5 per inch
Sock length: 9”
With contrast color, cast on 16 stitches (8 on each needle) using Jenny’s Magic Cast-On.
Row 1: K1, kfb, knit to 2 stitches before end, kfb, K1
Row 2: Knit across
Repeat these two rows for a total of 22 rows, ending with 60 stitches.
Switch to main color, knit even 63 rows.
47 rows gusset. Rav ate the rest of the notes for this sock.

03/04/22: Startes the second sock.
02/25/22: According to the math here I started the gusset at least an inch too soon. May be time for outright ripping back.
Okay, back to the “knit straight” section and appear to be 19 rows in. The purple ring marker is the BoR marker.
47 rows knit straight from where the gusset used to begin, time to start the new gusset.
Math: 11.5 rounds/inch

02/24/22: Finished undoing the heel back to the end of the gusset. Thank goodness I did that part in a different yarn!
09/28: Did some un-knitting at a couple of recent doctor appointments… guess I’m going to try to un-fuck it up.
08/05: I appear to have mashed up “gusset and flap heel” and “short-row heel.” Giving it a brief time out while I decide if I want to say damn the torpedoes or rip out a little and do it the right way.

I swear I was going to do the pattern as written for once but then I decided to do a contrasting heel and toe and then I decided I should therefore do it toe-up, and also my feet are in between sizes so I had to adjust that as well.
