Did not do the extra knitted rows as I was afraid of running out of yarn. Dragged this WIP all throughout my trip in SF, including a couple of winery tours. Finally finished it at BFD with the help of a friend who got me through 4 rows of garter.

Got the buttons at Britex Fabrics in SF while meeting some fellow Yarn Snobs and the iron-on label.

Made a matching hat with the leftover yardage.
CO 70
K1,p1 rib for about 1.5 inches.
Stockinette until 5 inches from CO edge.
Begin decreases from k2tog, k8.
Alternate a knit round until you get to a round where you just k2tog the left over stitches.
Knit a round.
Weave in end through the remaining stitches, pull tight and done!
