Thought I cast on 102 stitches with Twisted German Cast-on, but it turned out I’d cast on 92 stitches.

I also misremembered the directions and knit about two inches of ribbing rather than what was called for in the pattern.

When it was time to divide the hat into six equal sections my math was off and I had five sections with 17 stitches and one with 7. By this time I’d tinked back so many rows I wasn’t willing to tink again. So I did the decreases on the five big sections and skipped the last one until there were seven stitches in each section. At that point I began following the pattern as written.

As more proof this hat was cursed, when I photographed it for my project page, I cut off the top of the hat.

At least it was made with love!
