This yarn is thicker than the others I have user for this hat. It seems very important to take into account the stretch properties of your yarn when making your band. The pattern calls for real wool. It will stretch a lot with wearing. This yarn is acrylic, but made to mimic wool and has a lot of stretch. Another acrylic I made this hat with has almost no stretch. My band had to be 21” long for a 22” circumferen Head.

This Band was 18”, 54 hdc around. I did turn after each row just as pattern said. I eliminated one repeat of the pattern rows. For decreases I did alternating every other with a skip 2 and skip 3 between shells. Plus, I added a row of sc worked as sc, sc, sc2tog around.
