I made up this pattern off the top of my head, after one of my Mother’s co-worker’s, April, asked if I could make her a cowl like that of the character Claire from the TV series Outlander. It took me a few tries to see how wide I wanted the finished product to be, so I ended up doing quite a bit of crocheting the first 10 rows or so and frogging them, until I liked the look.

The finished cowl measures 8” wide by a loop of 65” total length (about 30” long when folded in half) and I love the look the fpdc stitch lends. I hope April enjoys wearing this cowl as she waits for the truly long mid-season break to be over and the show to start back up.
