This pattern I created for a simply quick gift to give to my son’s 1st grade teacher for Christmas. I love how this looks, almost more difficult than it really is. I am superbly glad I didn’t make one of last year’s teacher gift patterns for myself, because I love this one more!

I wrote this pattern down, so once I can get it tested I can get it out there for ya’ll to work up and love too! Using rows of alternating fphdc and bphdc to create the great texture and a 1-2-2-2-1 pattern for the color changes, I left my yarn attached when switching colors to lessen the necessity for tons of ends to weave in. After two rows of sc for a border, (on the short ends of the second row I sc, ch 2, sk 1 st, sc across for my ‘eyelets’ to lace thru) I finished it off with a generous length of coordinating ribbon and voila!
