REMEMBER to keep in mind I am knitting Toe-up
05-17-2022 As I was not making any progress after noticing sole pattern mistakes in my right sock , not actually having enough yarn to finish the pattern for each sock, and realizing this heathered yarn is just too gorgeous for a cabled pattern, I have decided to repurpose this yarn for another pattern. However, I am keeping my project notes to ultimately knit this beautiful designed pattern correctly when I eventually select appropriate yarn.
04-06-2022 Stopped on round 35 today.
Finished Chart C (pay attention to which way to cable, front or back ) and now knitting Chart B up to round 39 to begin Gusset, where I began Gusset on my right sock.
04-05-2022 Knit set up and up to round 7 of Chart C (Left Sock).
REMEMBER round begins with knitting 30 sole stitches and then follow Chart C pattern
03-31-2022 Time to knit the Left Sock! Completed Judy’s Magic Cast On. Knit up to 60 stitches.
02-24-2022 Will knit Left Sock after knitting my second “RUG” sweater.
02-16-2022 Right Sock
Could only knit up to round 65 of repeat rounds 45-74 ( ) and then knit 4 repeats of Chart D Ribbing. The Ribbing is AWESOME and LOVE LOVE LOVE Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off
02-15-2022 Finished Chart B and ready to repeat rounds 45-79 … if I have enough
02-14-2022 Knit up to round 85 …
02-13-2022 Knit up to round 73 …
02-12-2022 Knit up to round 65 … the SSK is different than I usually knit, but I will follow the instructions
02-11-2022 Knitting Leg starting Front Instep with round 56 of Chart B and Back Instep with round 57 (where my beginning stitch marker is located) … predicting I may not have enough yarn
Tried on my right sock foot and the fit is wonderful for my size 6/6.5 foot.
Finally figured out Heel Turn and Heel Flap instructions - sometimes it only makes sense when you are staring at the needle I always knit socks with a 12” circular and shift my stitches between stitch markers instead of using waste yarn, or a dangling stitch holder. The Heel Turn and Heel Flap are just AWESOME
02-09-2022 OMG Studying Heel Turn and Heel Flap directions …
Knit 15 stitches (place marker) and begin 18 stitch Heel Turn (place marker) leaving 15 stitches on left needle. NOTE: Will begin Leg on round 56 after Heel Turn and Heel.
Finished Gusset increases after knitting round 55.
02-08-2022 Started Gusset increases (K2, M1R) after round 38 of Chart B, or beginning of round 39 (which is begins with knitting across Sole).
Oopsie
I knit Chart B up to round 42 and frogged back to beginning of round 39 after realizing I forgot to calculate/measure when I should start my Gusset increases! I have knit many Cuff to Toe socks with usually 22 rounds for Gusset decreases. Thinking in reverse (since this is a Toe-up sock) this pattern for my size only has 18 rounds for increases (30 stitches increased to 48), so I will begin my Gusset on round 39 of Chart B. From my Toe to beginning of my Gusset, I currently measure 5” which is typically my length after my Gusset when knitting Cuff to Toe socks.
02-07-2022 Finished Chart A (Right Sock) and think I may have to omit some rounds in Chart B. I have 178 yards and instructions recommend 190 yards … I could easily omit rounds 74 to 85
02-06-2022 Finished set up and knit up to row 5 of Chart A Right Sock.
Knit Toe increases to 60 stitches to begin Chart A (Right sock).
Following a YouTube video, successfully complete Judy’s Magic Cast On using my Zing US 1.5 (2.5mm) 12” circular. So much easier to knit with my 12” circular instead of DPNs, especially to keep track of what row you are knitting!!
EXCITED to begin this project Time to knit my second pair of Toe-up socks
This sock yarn is wonderful and not expensive - $7.98 for 2 skeins
Purchased pattern 02-06-22
