02-11-2024 Have enough yarn to knit another small pair to gift

For my thumbs, I picked up 8 sts (instead of 6) along cast on edge for a total of 20 sts. Finished 10 rounds of k2,p2 ribbing and then cast off in pattern.

02-08-2024 Knit pattern up to second repeat of right mitt thumb gusset increases.

Completed Tubular Cast On (like my left mitt) and knit k1,p1 ribbing of right cuff. Knit setup round and switched to larger 12” circular.

Will knit thumbs after I finish my right mitt. Finished left mitt

The length of my left mitt measures 9” when relaxed

Knit another 19 rounds of 2x2 rib and did simple bind off in pattern. (I do not experience flaring when using the same needle size. If flaring, go down a needle size.)

Finished third repeat of thumb gusset increases (24 sts between markers). Figured out thumb directions by putting first 12 stitches on one of my flexible Additurbo dpn, then cast on 4 stitches using backwards loop method and continued knitting 12 remaining thumb stitches in pattern. 12 stitches are held on my dpn and there are 16 stitches between my stitch markers.

02-07-2024 Completed 2 of 3 repeats of thumb gusset increases.

Knit set up round, switched to my 12” Zing size US size US 4 circular and knit Left Hand k2p2 pattern.

Successfully completed my Tubular Cast On and knit k1p1 ribbing with my 12” Zing size US 2.5 circular for 12 rounds.

After refreshing my memory about various Tubular Cast On techniques, I chose Andrea Mowry’s technique on YouTube video for my cast on.

02-06-2024 Received my Elmer fingering yarn today and the aqua blue with the colorful mohair Hand wound my Elmer fingering and it is gorgeous (no tie offs )
