10-31-2022 Done
10-27-2022 Finished Short Row Heel (this heel always gives me heartburn, but I am determined to master it ) Slipped a stitch with my working yarn through last stitch of Instep to close gap like I did on my first sock (see below) before starting with row 14 of Chart A across back of heel.
10-21-2022 Finished rows 1-24 of Chart A … after another repeat of rows 1-13, will begin Short Row Heel.
10-19-2022 Completed increase round and Chart B. Knitting repeats of Chart A of Leg.
10-18-2022 Time to finish the second sock Long Tail Cast on and knit 13 rounds of ribbing
09-25-2022 Knit rows 1-24, then finished Chart C and Toe.
09-24-2022 Have calculated I will repeat Chart A rows 1-24, then after knitting Chart C, I will knit decrease round, shift my beginning marker to middle of bottom of foot and knit one more round with MC before knitting Toe.
09-23-2022 Knitting Chart A for Sole and Instep. Knit rows rows 14-24.
Finished Short Row Heel. On row 40 of the heel, be picky about the placement of that last M1LP. After purling row 42, I slipped my working yarn as an extra stitch through the last stitch of my Instep before starting to knit row 14 of Chart A across the heel. This closed that gap nicely
09-22-2022 Finished leg and knit up to row 21 of Short Row Heel. (These instructions would have been most helpful when I knit the Short Row Heel of my Alice’s Easter Bunny socks )
Finished ribbing, increase round, Chart B and first repeat of Chart A. Will knit up to row 14 of second repeat before knitting Short Row Heel. (Note: I never change my needle size as my tension always seems just right .)
09-21-2022 Cast on and knit 7 rows of my favorite ribbing
Just hand wound my Cosmos skein into a ball and the colors are truly AMAZING
I have knit many of Charlotte’s designs and know that casting on 64 stitches with my Zing 12” circular size US 1 (2.25mm) is the best fit for my small size 6 feet.
VERY EXCITED to start this project after being very patient to receive my pre-ordered copy of Charlotte Stone’s “Charming Colorwork Socks” book So many fabulous designs in this book, but this pair is FIRST in line
09-20-2022 WOW Received my preordered book of Charlotte Stone AMAZING sock patterns today and have to knit this pair first - so many beautiful new patterns to knit
Though pattern suggests colors Conifer and Martini Cinderella Yarn Love (my absolute favorite sock yarn and which I happen to have have stashed 2 Conifer (50 gram) skeins set aside for a pair of future Mountain Pine socks designed by Charlotte Stone) I think the color of my Conifer skeins are too dark and have decided to use my stashed colors Art Deco and Frog Prince Cinderella Yarn Love. LUCKILY I very recently purchased 2 (50gram) skeins of Cosmos Cinderella Yarn Love before Charlotte’s book was released not knowing it would be suggested for this pattern. Pure coincidence that I purchased Cosmos thinking it would be perfect to use when I saw a preview of Charlotte’s “Tip Toe Through The Tulips” on her book cover!!!
