Really LOVE THIS AMAZING DESIGN
09-06-2022 Second Sock
Knit Toe and Kitchener stitched with exactly 1&1/2” of Mohair left after weaving in my loose end how did I manage to get a pair of socks out of 1 skein (229 yards) of Rowan Kidsilk Haze?!?!?!
09-05-2022 Knit set up for Toe and switched to my size US1 (2.25mm) addiCraSyTrio DPNs to finish Toe.
Ended Gusset decreases on row 10, like my first sock. Finished 5th & 6th repeat of Chart B.
09-04-2022 Successfully knit Heel and Heel Turn. Picked up Gusset stitches and knit row 9 across Instep. Knitting Gusset decreases on even rows of Chart B.
09-02-2022 Finished second repeat and rows 1-8 of Chart B.
09-01-2022 Finished Chart A, set up for Chart B and knit up to row 2 of second repeat of Chart B.
08-31-2022 Successfully completed Long Tail Cast On and knit up to row 3 of Chart A.
First Sock
Knit Toe and Kitchener Stitched the last 16 stitches. Wish my photos captured the Silver Sparkle
08-30-2022 Knit 6th and final repeat of Chart B. Knit next set up round for Toe and placed M1L in the middle of instep (13 stitches, which is conventionally placed after the 2 knit stitches and before the purled stitch and 2 knit stitches). This will make 28 stitches on front/Instep needle 1 and 28 stitches on back/Sole needle 2.
Easily slipped my almost finished sock on my foot … I get it when knitters say, “You have to knit socks!!!”
08-29-2022 I usually knit 32 rounds after last Gusset to Toe … Charlotte Stone designs usually have 11 Gusset decreases, but this design has 9 … so I anticipate my last row of Chart B will be row 16 of my 6th repeat.
Finished Gusset decreases on row 10 and knit up to row 12.
This “Morning Mist” yarn is stunning Wish I could capture the slight (just right) Silver Sparkle in a photo As I knit with this beautiful yarn held with a strand of Rowan Kidsilk Haze, I am AMAZED with Charlotte Stone’s talent and design of this pair of socks
08-28-2022 Knit up to row 1 of Chart B with 5 more decrease rounds on even rounds to go (every other round …).
Knitting Gusset decreases on even rounds.
Successfully picked up Gusset stitches. (I always M1R as my pickup stitch on the side where my K2tog decreases are and M1L on the side where my SSK decreases are.) Began with row 9 of Chart B since I ended with row 9 before Heel and Heel Tirn.
Knit Heel and Heel Turn. After reknitting Heel Turn twice, in order to end up with 16 stitches for end of Heel Turn, omit K1 after SSK and P1 after P2tog on last 2 rows
08-27-2022 Finished second repeat of Chart B and another 8 rows. Ready to knit Heel and Heel Turn.
08-26-2022 Finished first repeat of Chart B and up to row 4 of second repeat.
Knit set up for my Size 2 sock (removing stitch markers used for Chart A) and knit up to row 4 of Chart B using beginning stitch marker and another after 27 stitches. MUST remember to knit 2 stitches before and after knitting Chart B 23 stitches for my Size 2 sock!! First time knitting Right Purl Twist and Left Purl Twist - fun to learn something new every day, especially with all the lace knitting I have done!!!
Successfully knit Chart A (placed stitch markers every 8 stitches to keep me on track) following the designer’s preferred 6 loop bobble. Again, remember to pick up that Mohair strand held with the sock yarn especially when knitting the bobble
08-25-2022 Completed Long Tail Cast on and knit ribbing holding 1 strand of Rowan Kidsilk Haze and 1 strand of “Morning Mist.” When knitting with Mohair, remember to pick up that strand with the sock yarn FINALLY content with my yarn choices
My yarn arrived today and I it Hand wound the skein into a ball and it is beautiful yarn with hints of blue and silver sparkle. Thank you Yoriko Oki of Fibre Art Studio on Granville Island, Vancouver, Canada. Quick shipping!!
08-17-2022 My third attempt, I think I finally found the perfect “Blue Speckles on White with Silver Sparkle” merino sock yarn on Etsy
08-16-2022 Decided to revisit this pair of white socks … will knit them up after I finish my Peaceable Mitts.
03-08-2021 Went shopping for white sock yarn and ordered 2 colors: an actual white (which is hard to find) and another color named Snow, which might appear to be off white. Will decide which to use when I receive them in the mail soon
03-04-2021 Trying to knit the second repeat … The gray is just not working for me
03-02-2021 Knit first repeat of Chart B …
Finished Cuff and knitting Chart A … beautiful with the White Kidsilk Haze, but that gray
03-01-2021 My favorite easy, stretchy Cuff preference
Having small feet, and from experience knitting many Charlotte Stone’s sock patterns, I always cast on 64 stitches using my Zing size US1 (2.25mm) 12” circular needle. I was initially concerned that the count for the Sport Weight Version 1 size Small would be snug, so I am knitting Sport Weight Version 2 using my Zing size US1 (2.25mm) 12” circular
Was going to read a book and take a break from knitting, BUT I pulled my project bag for this pair of socks and when I held a strand of White Rowan Kidsilk Haze with a strand of Snowfall SweetGeorgia Mohair Silk, I completed my Longtail Cast on and still trying to decide if the gray works for me
02-27-2021 Finally received my White Rowan Kidsilk Haze Must finish my sister’s birthday Waving Lace socks designed by Evelyn A. Clark before I can dive into this pair of socks
02-25-2021 Received my Sweet Georgia “Snowfall” before my Rowan Kidsilk Haze. Glad I purchased the “White” KSH to knit with the very gray Sweet Georgia sock yarn … glorious yarn but might be too gray for my taste
03-13-2021 Now to wait for my “Snowfall” yarn and White Rowan Kidsilk Haze to arrive in the mail
Really wanted to purchase “Snow Is Falling” Giggling Gecko Socklandia Yarn, but cannot justify spending $$ on shipping that is just as much as the yarn
Discovered this special blend (50% Merino 20% Nylon 15% Mohair 15% Silk) fingering yarn that might be perfect for this pattern
