Important Notes: PLEASE make sure you make a gauge swatch to match gauge. Continue to make swatches until you match gauge. I had to go all the way down to a G hook with bulky yarn. You can also use ww yarn and maybe an H or I hook, but be aware that the crocheted fabric will then be thinner. I want my boots to be thick, not like socks; so I stuck with the bulky yarn. 12/11/14: I got them back from the shoe cobbler! They have a crocheted double sole, and he added the flexible rubber sole. I also requested a heel made out of the same sole. They are flexible and feel heavenly! At least that’s what my BFF says since these are hers. I just have to add the buttons, but I consider these boots done. “These boots are made for walkin’”… lol!

12/1/14: This is the second pair I’ve started. I am so in love with this pattern! People have had issues with the gauge. I guess I’m lucky I was able to match it, though my hand ends up sore because the stitches are tight. No ww yarn for me, though. I love the thickness of the bulky yarn. I’m not one to play with variegated yarns a lot, but when I saw the one I used here, I fell in love with it, and so did my BFF. I’m making this pair for her. The pictures seem to show that the boot is a bit big for her, but the length is perfect; she just has a very slim foot. I hope my shoe repair guy finds a way to add a thick sole and that it’s not too expensive. These boots deserve to go out on the town :)
