Notes

Other materials used:
Felt glue
Black felt
Black poly fiber fill (not used but need to buy it!)
12-mm safety eyes
Glue gun
Plastic canvas (not used but should for feet soles next time)

Modifications:
At the top opening of the body, I crocheted a sort of balloon where the first two rows were not closed rounds in order to leave an opening and had increases, and then I started doing rounds by the third one and then decreased and closed it off.

On the bottom opening of the head, I crocheted a round of sc’s FLO and made a second round with (sc, sc, inc) x 4 and finished off. I stuffed the head almost all the way but left a vacant area in the middle where I estimated the “balloon” would fit and expand.

It was hard work because the “balloon” opening was not very big, but using the detail stuffing tool from PlanetJune, I stuffed it until it was full and then used the tail of the beginning of the balloon to sew the opening shut.

For the arms, before I finished the last two rounds, I used big safety eyes, about 10 mm, and placed the eye inside the arm and the back of it inside the body and clamped them together. The arms are now movable. I have to remember next time that the big safety eyes tend to trap the loops that I need to crochet into; so I have to crochet a round above the eye up to the stitch past where I will place the eye so that I don’t have trouble again.

For the logo, I used felt. I cut out the logo out of paper and used felt glue to glue it onto a piece of black felt. I saturated the felt on the area that I planned to cut and used my fingers to press the front and back of the felt so the glue would saturate through. I allowed to dry completely and then used very fine scissors to cut out the logo. Once finished cutting, I soaked in very warm water for a while. Then I used some soap and started to lightly rub the paper off and the glue. Be careful not to rub the felt too much or it will start to pill. I squeezed a towel around the wet felt, let completely dry, and then hot glued the felt to the yellow oval and then hot glued the oval to the front of the torso.

For the cape, I made my own thing so that the top connects with the bottom of the mask, making it appear to be one piece.
