Notes

Love this hat though the top could be done a bit tighter - had no DPNs so had to use the dreaded magic loop. Also not as baggy as expected. Originally was going to knit this for my bf, but because of the fit, will keep for me!

Kit purchased at UK Knit Camp 2010.

Hoping the use of a 6.5mm throughout is a compromise for the recommended 6 for ribbing and 7 for rest of hat!

Directions are for knitting flat, but I’m knitting in the round.

Row 8 should read *P1, kfb* to end (97sts)

My tension must be way off (though the pattern doesn’t give a suggested tension). I didn’t like the top of the hat so I used other patterns to finish this off. I ended up having to rip that out and add in one more repeat of the cables before beginning the decreases.

21/12/10 knitting and sewing in ends is finished. Will wash and block tomorrow and see how it is. It’s not baggy (I didn’t change needle size) but it seems to fit really well. Initially purchased this ‘kit’ for my boyfriend, but decided to keep it for myself since the fit would be too short/tight on him.
