On zebra since the black Dishie yarn is thinner I used an I hook for it and an H hook for the white Handicrafter yarn. I used the E hook to do a row of sc down the sides to tighten them up plus a row of slip stitches across the top in black. To fit it to nose area I sewed in a piece of craft wire towards the top of the pocket. I folded the ends to prevent them sticking the wearer.

I used the pig muzzle from the Dress Up Pigs pattern and added 1 sc per long side to make zebra muzzle.

On all but the lion I slip stitched the first and last 4 stitches in every 3rd row to help make the gapping effect on the sides smaller.

On the American mask I used the E hook to make slip stitches on each side and the H hook to do slip stitches across the top in red.

Craft wire can be used for shaping on the top by sewing it on the back above the filter pocket or by doing sc’s over it at the top of the mask.
