I used various sources for inspiration
This one for the top (which in my version is the bottom)
There’s a crochet book in German, which is not in the database and I couldn’t find any amazon link, just this reference From this book come the leaves at the ends of the lanyard.
Well, my basic principle was to first make a top, then do some fancy bit pattern for the body and then make something frilly for the bottom. This didn’t go as planned, as I decided the frilly bit was to be a flower and the lanyard plus leaves is the scrub underneath. That looks good enough, and thus I was spared the necessity to do something fancy with the top.
The pattern at the body is something I just made, then I did a few rows of filet crochet and after that I just increased like hell in order to make some petal-like fancy bits that can make a blossom in the end.
Then I made a loooong chain row, then the first leaf, then back with sc along the chain row, then - well, then I discovered just in time that I should thread the lanyard through my filet holes BEFORE chrocheting the second leaf. Which I did. With a lot of spare yarn to serve for the second leaf. A LOT of extra yarn. It wasn’t enough.
Well, worked out in the end, quite a few ends to weave in. The whole thing weighs about 70 grams, I don’t know how much of which colour.
