I used worsted yarn, with an easy gauge, so it was too tall. Frogged down to the top of the little band and worked the deer. Finished, hated the pointy start of the decreases, frogged to the top of the heads, and redid the decrease chart. Added 4 rows, started decreases in the air between the trees and the deer, not at the 3 lines, EOR for a few rows, then moved them to the white lines every row. Smoothed out that start just like I wanted, and the extra 5/8” made the whole hat shape much nicer. I’m pleased with it.
