Notes

There should be one more ball of yarn. Need to go look.

Purple signatures

I also need a new Aran/bulky ball or two of contrast for the first intarsia. Will have to see if any of the pinks will do. I have a few balls of KP shine that might work.

I really dislike the base sweater, so I will just use the fist chart. I Need to find a proper sweater pattern for this weight! I was going to use the leisure arts sweater, but it doesn’t go up to bulky.

Using the Meg Swansen neckLAce yoke sweater. Redoing the math.

The yarn is Aran, two colorways. So, I’m alternating the two colors, row by row. I didn’t like two row stripes, while one row strips looks nicely mixed.

Got the body up to the armpits, having restarted just a couple of times. But, now in the sleeve, and redid the firs 5 inches twice. Too big. Now, it’s going apace, less than 20 rows for the first sleeve. 3” of cuff garter, increase abruptly for the main sleeve, and work the whole sleeve this wide. I used both yarns together to double the stiches for the sleeves. I needed doubled -6, so just decreased the extra on the next row.

I’ve got the sleeves on and am working the bottom 1/3 of the yoke straight. 27 rows on 270 stitches. Aroundnand around. At about 16 in. Around and around.

I can’t tell if it’s goimg to fit. The body looks too short. I keep forgetting it will have a 3”’garter border. The sleeves look like the are the right circumference, but I can’t tell if they are long enough. I would have to take the stitches off the needle onto a string, and I detest doing that. I tried it on as it is, but the under arm stringnhokding stitches and the needle combined to amelnthe top of the sleeve hard and narrow. It looks like it might be ok, but hard to tell. I’ll try it on again at 27 rows. I am loving the color and the texture.

Pulled it back to 3”. It was way too big. Hips fit. Decreased regularly to waist, using the new a-line wool gathering pattern. Ballet neck. Worked 4” above underarm, k2 K2tog around. Worked 2”, k1k2tog around. 2 more “, k1 K2tog K2tog around.

This looks good.

Worked 4 short row garter ridges, then 1 around. Jeny cast off.

Next up, weave the pits and a garter border hem.

And, goodness, am I crooked!
