#9 of 11
ERRATA: In the written instructions, row 18 is wrong. It should read:
k to marker, slm, p1, k1, ssk, yo, ssk, k1, yo, k2tog twice, yo, k2tog, k2, (yo ssk) twice, k to end (this appears to have been fixed in v2.2 of the pattern)
Even after my partial blocking I didn’t really notice this, but since it went so quickly so far I’m just going to frog it and start again.
In case you’re like me and slow on the uptake, here’s a tip: The three slipped stitches on the neck edge are forming an applied i-cord, so pulling the yarn tightly behind them is a good thing.
Blocking pic is the most accurate, color-wise.
6/6: 25 gms left at the end of rep 3 row 10.
6/7: First ball lasted till near the end of rep 5 row 20. It would have gone a little farther but I didn’t want to worry about weaving in the ends in the edging.
6/7 take two: Frogged back to the first row 18, then finished the first rep tonight.
6/11: I decided I didn’t like the way it looked to reknit with the frogged yarn (I didn’t take the time to wash it to loosen the kinks). So I started for the third time and now I’m rolling along nicely. Just about finished with the 3rd rep.
First ball lasted till rep 5 row 19.
6/13: Finished the 8th rep.
6/14: Finished the 9th rep. Still working on the 2nd ball, but it’s dwindling fast.
6/16: Second ball lasted till rep 10 row 15.
6/17: Finished the 11th rep.
6/18: Third ball lasted till rep 15 row 12.
6/19 (wee hours of the morning): All done! Finished product weighs about 162 gms. Blocking will have to wait till later, though, as it will require a lot of effort to get it right.
Still waiting on the buttons but I’m calling it done! Special-ordered from the incomparable TessaAnn, the buttons in the lower right corner of the pic are destined for this project.
