This was my degree show of Freeform Knitting and Crochet from 1982. Apologies for the quality of the photos but I did not have a digital camera at that time and I took these from my original photos in my scrapbook. (When I have more time I will try and scan the photos. It is a shame really as these are the only record I have.)
I based my collection on Moseley Bog, which was about 10 minutes away. This was the magical place that inspired Tolkien’s home for the hobbits, the Shire.
I wrote to Alex Dalglish from the Knitting Craft Group (KCG) and not only was he kind enough to provide yarn support, he was also very interested in what I was producing. He introduced me to Jan Messent and Joy Gammon (both members of KCG) and they also were very supportive.
Alex bought all my creations, even though he had provided all the yarns, and sadly I don’t know what happened to them. I will always remember Alex with a great fondness.
