I’m probably a bit stupid to pick this pattern for my first sock knitting project (apart from baby socks). WM Pure in Ahoi and Natur, and scraps of WM Twin in Grünfink for the contrast stripes.
Maybe it’s just me, but the pattern seems unclear about how to continue the mid-foot part after the markers have reached the edges. I stopped the increases at that point (after rd 51), but continued doing the decreases. Slipped st from sole to instep one more rd (52) to get 37 st on the sole. Started decreases on the sides every 3 rd twice, every 2 rd three times and every rd 5 times.
Wasn’t happy with the look of the mid-foot so ripped it back to rd 32 and followed Kkay’s mods.
Turned out too long so I knitted the side decreases more frequently than in the pattern; at round 1,4,6,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15 and 16.
Finished the second sock today! I think I will reinforce the heels before giving them away, it doesn’t make sense that the part that gets worn out the most is the only part knitted with a single strand of yarn.
