There are so many gorgeous free hat patterns out there. This one is by YOTH yarns and they describe it as ‘cables twist and turn amongst panels of texture making this hat a classic for years to come’.

I love the overlapping cables twisting in and out, over and under framing diamond and triangular panels of moss stitch. This one is again unisex and I’m making the S/M size in the slouchy style.

I learnt a new to me cast on for this. An alternating cable cast on. The cable cast on it my go to cast anyway. In this variation you cast on one knit wise and then one purl wise. I love the look of the finished edge. I’ll certainly use this again.

This required patience to get the cables right. There was one section in the middle that I frogged three times before I got it right.

Beautiful results, blocked up beautifully. This yarn is just so soft after washing. Really happy with the finished hat.
